Remembering default password in outlook

R

RORY

I have recently had to reformat my disc and have now
reinstalled everything but when I use outlook I can no
longer get it to remember the default password for my e-
mail account when I log on or send and receive.

I have gone to the correct account and selected the
remember password option but when I tick this it still
does not remember my password and I am requested for the
outlook password again next time I use it

I did not previously log on as anything but now log on as
administrator - is there something in a profile that I
need to alter

Any ideas would be much appreciated

I have the same problem as this person and have
downloaded all patches etc with no luck. It means you
have to type in passwords every time you come back into
Outlook for every account - its driving me nuts.

Thanks Ken

There have been several recent issues with passwords not being retained with
Outlook. If you're running Outlook 2002, the SP1 solves many of these, so
start there. If not, here are some other solutions:

For Outlook 2000 or 2002 on Win 98, NT, or 2000:

For Outlook 2000 on Windows 2000:

(IMO) http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q259416

For all Outlook versions on Windows XP (note, this article is written for OE
but the solution applies to Outlook as well. Just ignore the parts that
refer to OE):

Thanks for this fix. Where can I take my machine to get
this fix done - does anyone know. Will MS payfor one of
their certified engineers to do it given its basically an
MS problem ?

Thanks - Ken

These are solutions provided for the end user. Why would you need to take
your machine somewhere?
