Reminders that don't go away

Hi Everyone.

I need some help with a issue with Outlook, Mobile devices and
reminders that just don’t go away.

Connected to Exchange 2003 server with Outlook 2003 – Users also have
a Windows Mobile device.

Users affected are the ones with the mobile devices other users are
ok.

Here is a typical scenario:

1 – Set an appointment for some time tomorrow
2 – Get reminder of appointment 15 minutes before appointment –
dismiss that reminder in Outlook – not in cached mode
3 – Get reminder of appointment on my Windows Mobile phone – dismiss
that reminder
4 – On the following days (AFTER the appointment) I keep getting
reminders for that
appointment that occurred 16 hours in the past. I
dismiss that reminder, and
a couple days later I’ll get another reminder for the
appointment that occurred
64 hours (or whatever) in the past. Eventually the
reminders stop.

Have tried Outlook with the /cleanreminders /cleanfreebuys and /
cleansniff

The /cleanreminders works for a short time then the issue returns.

There are no duplicate entries in the calendar and user is in non
cached mode connected direct to the exchange server

I've been having this problem for several years and cannot figure it out. I
am using Outlook 2003 and ActiveSync and synching calendar entries between
two computers. The reminders are inconsistent but I can sometimes have as
many as 32 reminders from as far back as a year ago. If I dismiss them they
come back shortly afterwards. Not necessarily all of them come back, but many
do. Some are duplicated within the same reminder list. When I go to that day
I see that the calendar entry seems to have been duplicated for as many times
as I had dismissed the reminder. This seems to happen only for recurring
entries - birthdays and recurring meetings (I've tried entering birthdays
both directly into the calendar and as a field in contacts - both have the
same problem). If I delete and re-enter the event/meeting the problem starts
again.

Sometimes I ignore the reminders and some go away (total count may drop from
19 to 15 without me dismissing them), while sometimes they stay and multiply.

Any ideas how to resolve this? Deleting the duplicate calendar entries are
only temporary. I tried running the cleanreminders option but it didn't do
anything.

Thanks!
