Remote Desktop Connection for Mac - printer problem

J

Jorn

Hi,

I connect to a Windows 2000 terminal server with my Apple Powerbook G4
(running OS X 10.2.8). To connect, I use "remote desktop connection 1.0.1
for mac".
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/DOWNL
OAD/MISC/RDC.xml&secid=80&ssid=9&flgnosysreq=True

I would like to be able to use my local printer on the terminal server.
How do I do this ? I have an Epson Stylus Color 740i.
The problem is, that I think I need to install it on the terminal server,
but that's Windows so it expects Windows-drivers. Once I install it there,
it won't print (because my printer is attached to the Mac, and this expects
Mac-drivers ofcourse...)

Any help ?

Thanks,

Jorn

PS. Can you include my work e-mail address in your reply ? it's

Hi Jorn!

I'm afraid you're probably out of luck.

The RDC client only supports Postscript printers that are attached to the
client Mac. Since the 740i is not Postscript (I couldn't find any
information telling me it was), it won't work.

A Postscript printer attached to the Mac will be seen by the Windows
Terminal Server and you'll only need to install the Windows drivers on the
server.

Hope this helps! bill
