Remote location problem

I have updated my laptop and previously used OneNote with my USB stick as the
"remote location". I travel between a laptop and a desktop and this was the
most efficient way to access it, rather than having to save it to the stick
each time and reload on the other computer. However, I can't choose the
remote location I want. I had no trouble with my old laptop but my new
laptop comes up with the following message when I try to change the "My
Notebook Path" in Options - Open and Save.

"You must enter a valid file location. The location must be relative to the
following location: E:/My Notebook"

I have downloaded Service Pack 2

Is this on Onenot 03 or OneNote 07?

In OneNote 07 there's the truly fantastic feature of synching. There
wone would not keep files on the stick, just on one of the machine
(normally the desktop) and not store them on the other at all.

I cannot say anything on the older version in so far.
