open outlook, go to the tools menu, choose synchronize,
and then offline folder settings. choose the folders you
want to be available offline. Under the tools>> Services
menu, choose properties, and then the dial up networking
tab. Choose the type of connection you use to access the
internet. On the general tab, choose to work offline.
Once this is complete, and you open Outlook, press
the 'F9' key to synchronize.
