Remote Web site authentication - please help

P

Paul Dussault

Hi,

New to FP 2003, and not too familiar with remote Web site authoring using
FP.

I was able to connect FP 2003 to an existing site on IIS 5 with FP Server
extensions.
From the FP client, I can connect to the remote site, using an admin user id
and password, manipulate data, etc.
But any other user id is rejected.

On the W2K server, I've added the user I want to the "Operators" list in the
virtual server containing the target site.
The user is also added, with correct permissions, to the NTFS level security
for the target directories.

But I can't connect with the id from FP.
Where am I supposed to look to authorize this user?

TIA

HI! try setting the user temporally to admin status. if it works then its
the group permissions settings you might have to change.

On my W2K machine only administrator can author websites, all other users
are read-only. You can check this using IIS manager and right click the
website and go to all tasks then permission wizard, it will tell what its
set at.

Hope this helps. :)
