Remote web site unable to open ftp

I am trying to use FrontPage to work on an existing web page. The person who
started the page loaded FP 2003 onto my computer yesterday. (a new one,
nothing illegal here!) I click on Remote Address Properties and fill in the
correct info, then enter the Username and Password. I then get an error
message telling me it is unable to open that site. Possible causes may be
The FTP Server is down or Proxy Server may be incorrect or An error may have
occurred in the FTP Server.

The person who was helping me went home and had no problem accessing it from
his home computer. So it appears I am the problem.....

I turned off my firewall long enough to try getting into this, but had the
same outcome.

I am able to open the site through the http://www.bayviewpta.org

I'm a bit of a bimbo when it comes to the workings of the computer, but if
anyone can give me any advice I would appreciate it. I have Windows XP SP2.
Let me know what other information I would need to give for someone to be
able to help me.

Thank you!

You can not open the remote site in FP via FTP, the remote site must have the FP extensions and then
you must open it via http.

Thank you for responding so quickly.

So when the screen says
Remote Website Properties at the top, I then click on FTP which then changes
the info in the "Remote Website Location" bar to ftp://

I then type in www.bayviewpta.org in that space following ftp://? Or do I
delete the ftp and type in http and then the web address?

Again, my apologies for my bimboness. It sounds as though once I am able to
get into the program I should be capable to continue. But this part has me
stumped! The info currently on the website is rather old and I'm excited to
update it.

Thanks again for any and all help!

The site does not have FrontPage extensions installed, so you cannot
open the site in FrontPage, at all.
Use an FTP client to download the entire site to an empty folder on your
computer, then open that folder in FrontPage.
