Remove a partial line (source unknown) in Excel?

Have completed an Excel spreadsheet with formulas, sub-totals, etc. Below
the final line of data is a thin line that crosses several columns but does
not line up with the beginning or end of a column cell, and does not extend
all the way across the spreadsheet. I have no idea where the line came from.
How do I remove it?

I'm guessing because I've had similar experiences.
Invariably I discover that the line is either a remnant of
an old AutoShape that was never properly discarded or even
maybe an old chart. This takes a delicate touch, but try
right clicking exactly on the line. In fact, if I'm
correct, just moving your cursor close to the line (VERY
slowly) will cause the cursor to change, which says
something is there that's not a grid line. If you
successfully click it, you might have the chance to delete
it by clicking delete on the resulting dropdown menu. If
you are curious about what it is, you might try dragging it
so that it expands into something recognizable. One more
thing. That single line may in fact be several lines
either in tandem head-to-toe, or what's REALLY vexing, they
may be one on top of another. I've had some AutoShapes
stack up into the hundreds. That's a real pain to get rid
of. Anyway, fool arounud with it and see what you can detect.
