remove hidden files

OK I'm really scratching my head on this one. I'm trying to install remove
hidden files. The program runs and installs fine. I'm using windows XP SP1
Office XP Standard and word 2002. I've checked to make sure under security
that the trusted all installed ad-ins and templates are on and it shows
version 11.0.6361.0 of remove hidden files is loaded. I've rebooted too but
still nothing shows up under file when I'm in word. What else can I do other
then go home and start my Xmas shopping ~:O

Thanks in advance and happy holidays to everyone.

I'll go out on a limb here and guess that you've installed the Remove Hidden
Data tool but don't see it on your File menu? According to the download site
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=144E54ED-D43E-42CA
-BC7B-5446D34E5360&displaylang=en), "By default, you can locate this file in
the \Program Files\Microsoft Office\Remove Hidden Data Tool\1033 directory
in the drive where you installed the tool. If you installed the tool to a
different directory, you can locate this file in the \1033 directory, a
subdirectory of the add-in installation folder." I'm wondering if you might
have installed it to a particular user profile (if you were not logged in as
Administrator) and be using a different profile?

Or it could be that you still have adaptive menus enabled? Go to Tools |
Customize | Options and make sure that "Menus show recently used items
first" is not checked.

I don't think I can take credit for having accomplished anything here, but
I'm glad that upgrading solved the problem for you!
