remove hyperlink from URL

sf

I am copying and pasting a url into Word 2010 (that's set up to save
as a 2003 word.doc if it matters). I don't want a hyperlink, I just
want the url. I've tried Paste Special "unformatted text" and Paste
Options "keep text only", but the hyperlink reappears (color changes
to blue and text is underlined) when I hit enter to go to a new line.
I was able to turn the hyperlink feature off completely in Word 2003,
where can I do that in Word 2010? TIA

PS: I think I've found the right place to do it... File > Options >
Advanced > Web Options > files tab? But I have no idea what to do
now. TIA again.

Actually, you need to clear the "Internet and network paths" option at File | Options | Proofing | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You Type.

If you then hilight the pasted URL, then do Ctrl + Shift + F9 doesn't it
do the job anymore?

I'm using an older version of Word so can't check the later versions.

That will work, but it won't prevent the AutoFormat As You Type option from
firing again if the URL is inserted in running text that's still active.
