remove (from future versions of office) the "you must close all office
applications before shutting down the system " dialog box that all versions
of outlook from outlook 97 onwards display when attempting to close all
aplications by shutting the system down using the shutdown menu, and to which
all other applications, both Microsoft and non-microsoft respond to
gracefully.

It's fixed in Outlook 2003. Some SPs fixed it in older versions, so you may
want to make sure you have the most recent builds of your version by
checking for updates at office.microsoft.com. (other sp's broke it, so it
may not fix it for you, but you should always use the latest versions
anyway.)
