Remove varification delete a highlighted word

My boss and I can not figure out how to remove a confirmation either Y for
yes n for no when he wants to delete something?
Help!

Might be helpful if we had a little more info. Like which program and
operating system and exactly what "something" you are deleting how you
are trying to delete the it.

Okay, 1st time user, sorry...MS Word 2002 XP operating system. Everytime he
highlights and hit the delete key a question in the bottom left hand corner
comes up to verify if a deletion needs to happen
