Removed Hit Counter

I've removed the web counter from my site but I still want to keep track of
the numbers of vistors to the site. I've tried to access pagename.htm.cnt
to check but I can't open the page on the server.

I'm using FP2003 - I connect to the server as if I was publishing, I
double-click to
open the _private folder, I then right-click on the file on the remote
web-site side but I don't have the option to open in NotePad. Even if I
double-click it the file won't open.

Any suggestions why I can't access the file on the remote web site using FP?

The file is no longer functional since you have deleted the hit counter.

Can't answer the current question, but can give info for the
future-
Don't delete the hit counter, replace it with an
invisible one. Custom hit counter using a 1x1 gif image.
See KB article 229900

Thanks for that. I've also found another article: KB 825497 - How to use
Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 to create a custom hit counter that cannot
be seen on your Web page.
