Removing a Link

If a cell is linked to a cell on another worksheet the following appears in
the bar at the top of the page

=sheet10!D5

Is there any way of eliminating =sheet10!D5 from the bar once the data is in
the new cell.

Many Thanks

Select the cell and copy (ctrl+c), then Edit > Paste Special, select Values
and click OK. Of course, the cell will then be fixed and won't reflect any
subsequent changes...

If you don't plan on using that link any more. You can click on the cell with
the link. Right click...click copy....right click again....click paste
special.... choose values. This will change the cell to the true value that
is showing up in the cell and you will see it in the bar.

You can turn of the display of the FORMULA BAR by clicking on TOOLS in the
menu and selecting OPTIONS. Click on the VIEW and the first check box in the
SHOW panel is FORMULA BAR. Click the check box to turn off the display.
