Removing CAD layers from Visio

I am utilising CAD drawings in Visio documents and hope to be able to insert
Cad drawings without converting them. In doing this I also want to if
possible be able to delete rather than hide certain CAD layers in Visio. The
only way I seem to be able to do this is by converting the CAD drawing which
I don't want to do, into Visio. Can I delete a layer without converting? Also
is there a way to only bring across certain layers from a CAD file when
INSERTING it into Visio?

I don't think this can be done as you describe. Visio will not modify an
inserted CAD drawing unless you perform conversion. Perhaps if you only
converted the layer you intend to delete, that will accomplish the same
task?
