removing email add from distributiion lists

Hi

How would I remove an email address from the distribution list when I delete
the contact from the contacts folder.

It seems that when I delete a certain contact, the message still get to him
via the distribution list. Looking up the contact in the distribution list
is a chore as I have 30 - 40 lists. I'm using Outlook 2003.

How do you search your distribution lists now? Do you do
it one at a time, just opening up every single
distribution list, or do you have a better technique?
