Removing Office 2007 Beta 2

T

TFB

Is there any issue with uninstalling Office 2007 Beta and reinstalling Office
2003 Professional? Outlook crashes about 5 times per day and my computer
seems to have troubles with other office functions. Frankly, I need to get
some work done...

Your help is greatly appreciated. Sorry Office Team, I like the additional
functionality, but it is not stable enough for me to do my daily job.

JoAnn, what do you mean by "production" systems? I have Office 2003 and was
debating on whether or not to download and install 2007 Beta. Once February
rolls around, what will happen once the final product is out...will 2007
revert back to 2003? Thanks in advance.

If you need to have working programs in order to get your work done, that is
a production machine.

Office 2007 will simply expire in February 2007. You can view files already
created but that is it. It will NOT automatically roll back to a prior
version, you will need to uninstall 2007 beta (and pray for the best) and
then reinstall your previous version.

Production system = system that you use for actual work. Beta software
should only be installed on test systems.
Once the final product is out, you'll need to buy it. Office 2007 Beta 2
will stop working February 1, 2007.

Agreed, but I was convienced by someone from Microsoft that it was close
enough. In any case, can you help with my question. Other than new file
formats, is there anything I need to know about removing tihe beta 2007.

Many people have had problems for various reasons. If this system is
critical to your work, you should not install the beta on it, regardless of
who tells you it's "close enough".

OK, since the real question has not really been answered. I went thru the
uninstall of Offce beta and reinstalled Office 2003 all seemed to uninstall
correctly and since I always saved in 2003 compatiability mode, the docs seem
ok as well.

Thanks TFB for the useful information.. too bad all the MVPs could do
was scold you about using a production machine and not bother really
helping you with your question! Thanks for nothing.

I did not see a warning that if you really need your office programs to
work don't install this. TFB Thanks for being persistant.
