Removing permanent dropshadow on slideshow templates

I use PP2003 and often convert powerpoint presentations into BMP's for
importing into editing programs. I would like to remove the black drop shadow
from the default templates as often the conversion will retain a portion of
this drop shadow which requires a cropping step in the editor. Very annoying!
If PowerPoint gives us a default drop shadow we should have control over it I
believe. Page setup is not helpful. Can anyone help?
Thank you

Reduce the workspace to 75% and you will see a dropshadow to the right and
bottom of the blank workspace.

A quick fix within Powerpoint is to import a white (or other color or
picture etc) into the workspace and extend the edges outside the boundaries
of the template workspace. This covers the dropshadow effect but is fiddly.
I convert to BMP in the 'save as' drop down menu within PowerPoint. As I
indicated earlier the problem is somewhat random and is traced back to
PowerPoint not the BMP generation or the editor I import into.
