removing slide number

J

John Fallon

You might want to make a small shape that matches the color of your
background to cover the slide numbers that you want to eliminate. If you
remove the slide number feature from the slide master, all numbering will be
removed.
Hope this helps!!!

If you have XP on you could have two sets of masters one with numbers and one
without. The slides will still be numbered in sequence though. (ie if slide 3
has no number the vnext slide will be 4.

Why is the obvious question?

Actually you can just select the slide thumbnails that you want to have slide
number on. To do so, hold down the Ctrl key, then click on the slide
thumbnails.
Next, click View > Header and Footer.
Put a checkmark on Slide Number. Click Apply.
Works for PowerPoint 95-2003.

If the slide numbers has been added to all the slides already, you will need
to remove it first before doing the above steps.
To remove, click View > Header and Footer. Uncheck Slide Number, click Apply
to All.

Hope this helps.
