Removing template format

I have used a template in word for a resume. I would like
to send the resume out as an attachment, but when I do
its shows the template, the faded header,ect. Is there a
way to turn this off so it will look like the printed
copy when I send it out

When you go to the Save As box, you will see where it reads file name and under that it will read save as type. There you should click on the arrow and a bunch of choices show up. Save it as a word document - doc. extension.
