Removing the database daemon

Hello,

I do not use entourage, but the entourage daemon is being launch at
startup of any Office application.

Is there a way to permanently disable the entourage database daemon?

I do not use the Notification features in the other Office
applications... but I do not know if they are turned on... is there a
way to check this?

The daemon is used to control all access to the database. And the database
(and daemon) is used by word and excel as well as Entourage.

If you start up Entourage and turn off notifications then the daemon will
only run when word or excel are running and will quit if those apps are quit
(assuming you aren't running entourage of course).

You cannot run word or excel without the daemon running, but it's resource
usage should be very very low.
