Rename a published & saved project name

What is the correct method of renaming a project saved &
published on a project server 2002?
- saving & publishing under another name & delete
original project? Do we keep all actuals & other
information? Links to issues/documents?
- digging into the SQL databases & modify the records? If
so which ones?

The way that we have found that works best is to save off
any versions of the project for historical purposes. (we
have a share drive we use). Then we delete the published
version out of the database using the Admin functionality
in PWA. Then we import the file using Tools _>
Enterprise Options -> Import File. We have found that
the import method works best and helps to identify any
possible project issues in the file.
