Renaming project

Hi,
I'm trying to rename my project in Project Server, have installed
ProjRenamer utilities, however, unable to login at ProjRename screen, my
project server and MS SQL server are installed on different machine, any
issue with this configuration ?

We were having the same problem then we tried setting up a Project Server
authentication account and that username and password worked. However when we
tried renaming we got the message "The server did not recognize your request".

Problem solved, we can now use the renaming tool. Our problem was we had
problems with the registry section, it ended up being the wrong data. Might
be worth checking if anyone else has the same problem we had.

i am still getting that error. What changes did you make to the registry to
make it work? I am using Windows 2000 SP3.

I am having the same problem that you experienced. Can you tell me what the
correct data was in the registry?

We used the project server administrators guide (from page 238), which can be
found on the microsoft site, but when we tried running the PDSExtensionEX.reg
it did not work, so we navigated to the registry path, given on the guide,
and manually added the infomation required.

I have created the key using the string, but it still gives the message that
the command was not recognized. I used PDSExtensionEx1 value
PDSRights.CPDSRights. Any other thoughts?

Hi Tom,

My colleague Ian was correct to a point but try using 'ProjectRenamer.CMain'
rather than PDSRights...etc. We had exactly the same problem and if I
remember correctly this is all we had to do to solve it - once we found the
correct value. Any more problems, post back here and we'll do what we can to
help you solve them.

Thanks to all for your help. It turns out that I needed to load the dll and
pds on the server itself, instead of on my PC. Once the software was loaded
on the server, and the registry was set correctly, it works wonderfully, even
from my PC.
