I'm editing a document in Word 2002 10.6843.6839 SP3.
I deleted a footnote then created a new footnote slightly earlier in the
text. The original note was #1, and when I created a new note, Word
automatically numbered it #1. However, when I added what should be footnote
#2 later in the text, Word automatically numbered it #3, even though #2
doesn't exist. How do I change the number of my second footnote from 3 to
2? I've tried deleting all footnotes and recreating them, and still the
second note comes up labeled #3.
