REOMVE ACCESS 2003 Runtime

Peter Neumaier

Hi!

I am trying to remove ACCESS 2003 Runtime, but it doesnt work.

I am selecting to "REOMVE" the installation via "ADD or REMOVE
Programs", afterwards a dialog comes up "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO REMOVE
ACCESS 2003 RUNTIME FROM YOUR COMPUTER", after confirming it with YES,
another dialog comes up "GATHERING information .....". This dialog
closes after few seconds and thats it, my ACCESS RUNTIME IS still
installed!?

WHAT CAN I DO!?

Hi Peter,

The Access 2003 runtime is typically deployed as part of an application. If
it was installed as part of a package created by the Access Developer's
Extensions Package Wizard, the runtime should be removed automatically when
you remove the application that installed it provided there are no other
applications on your computer that are also using the runtime.

In order to answer your question I'd need to know how you got the runtime
installed in the first place and how many different applications are using
the runtime.

It is possible to get the Access 2003 runtime "locked" into your registry
if you perform certain actions. If this is the case, you've probably
actually already removed the Access 2003 runtime from your computer and it
is erroneously listed in your Add/Remove Programs listing. This is a
problem with the ADE Package Wizard that we are looking into at this time.
