Reopen of saved draft shows message garbled (E2004 with IMAP)

For a couple of days now almost every message that has been saved
(drafts, or even sent mails) don't show the expected: Instead of the
message (with html or just plain text) start with soemthing like

Content-type: text/html;

charset="ISO-8859-1"

Content-transfer-encoding: quoted-printable

<HTML>

<HEAD>

<TITLE>Ziel f&uuml;r &Uuml;bernahme</TITLE>

</HEAD>

<BODY>

<FONT FACE=3D"Verdana, Helvetica, Arial"><SPAN STYLE=3D'font-size:
12.0px'>&Uuml=

After that the text is displayed. Even more, invitations for a meeting
have the same bizarre behaviour.

I've checked the mails within the IMAP folders by using my mail
providers web interface, they look fine... I've searched this forum
and the internet as well, found nothing similar. Any ideas?

For garbled text, the most common cause is corrupt font caches. In addition
to trashing the com.microsoft.browserfont.cache, you can also try trashing
the tasmanbrowser.cache, which will be found in your ~/Library/Caches.

If this does not fix your problem, try Font Finagler.

Diane, thanks for dealing with my issue!

I can't find a file like that, unfortunately...

No, as well, no file with that name...

That does not look like my problem. I get the message upholstered with
lines that look like HTML code. Plain Text-Mails as well, and they
receive a LF/CR between every line. Btw, the more I save a mail like
that the more new lines it becomes added. Weird...

Do you have one that you can send me as an example?

To send me an email:

Click on Newsgroup Support link. Please do not change the subject. I use the
subject in a rule so the email does not get lost in my Junk folder.

Hi Diane,
I am also having the same exact problem as Kai, also with my GMX mail
account. I would be very interested in finding out what you discover
here.
Regards,
Alex

Diane,

I do!
Do you have one that you can send me as an example?

Yes. It should read just "Hello World", and I will enclose a screen
shot of hao the mail looks after saving it as a draft or after opening
it again after sent.

Clicking the link creates a new mail, with the subject remaining

Clicking the link creates a new mail, with the subject remaining
empty, so now it contains <kein Betreff> which translates to "no
subject" which came in after reopen the saved mail - OK?

Guys, in the future, for the benefit of anyone else in the world that
may be having the same or similar problems, please consider uploading
images to the free http://imageshack.us and posting a link to the image
here so the rest of us can see the image! This will help others who
are having similar problems, because they will be able to see what you
are talking about and compare.

I haven't received your screen shot yet.

Diane, sorry!
I haven't received your screen shot yet.

I ran into the trap Alex mentioned. I've sent the saved draft, and
that contains the scrambled attachment. You now have got the
attachments sent by an unsaved mail, and that hopefully works.

OK, the problem is related to GMX. I've just received a mail from the
support team, they know about the issue, asking for some patience...
