"Repairing Access 2003" (& Office 2003)

About a year ago, we had an Access-to-Excel automation
issue where the opened Excel session wouldn't Close (the
code asked for that) and kept opening more Excel Sessions.

The IS (Info Systems) guys here corrected that issue by
"Repairing Excel 2003".

A User here used a wireless connection to the Access
Server and the front-end didn't "recognize" the back-end
anymore...even after re-linking.

Other than "Compact and Repair" in Access, how is the
MSACCESS.EXE itself "Repaired"??
