Replacing blank cells

Chris Stammers

Hi,

I have a couple of data files that have 2 date of birth fields. Some cells
in each are blank. What I need to do is replace DOB with insureeDOB if DOB is
empty and InsureeDOB is populated. As there are several thousand records in
each file I don't want to have to do this manually. Is there a formula that
can do this? I am using Excel 2000.

Many thanks.

Chris,

Select your column with DOB values (which include the blanks). Then use Edit Go To... Special
Blanks. Press the = sign, arrow over to the insureeDOB field, then press CTRL-Enter. Then you can
select the DOB column and copy paste special values.

Many thanks Bernie. That did the trick just fine. Thanks for the prompt
response.
