Replacing Publisher site with FP Site

R

Robin

I have a web site that was written in Pub 03. I have recreated the site in
FP03 and am ready to publish it to the web. Do I need to do any cleanup on
the server with the Pub files or do I just publish and the new index will
replace the old and the links will then be fine? I am terrified to try to
publish the site. I have it working pretty well in Pub and am afraid that I
will have "issues." I wish there was some way to really test the site before
replacing the existing one that is working.
Thanks!

1. You would have to delete the content of the current site on the live/remote server.

2. You can test your site open the local copy in FP, then select your home page (index.htm), then
click File Menu | Preview In Browser. As long as you are not using anything that requires a web
server or a server that has the FP extensions, your site should work as intended locally.
