Replacing tags programmatically

Hello.

I have to write an application that must replace some tags inserted
into a msWord Document with data from a Database (in the same way as
Crystal Reports do, for example, with its own documents).

Do you know which is the better way for accomplishing it? I would
appreciate if you could tell me where to look (books, references,
etc.) or the object from the MSWord API to use. This would allow me to
look into the right direction in the msWord API documentation (I'm
lost).

You need to use VBA to program in Word.
