Dear Sirs,
Firstly, my apologies if this is to the wrong group. This question isn't
specific to forms coding, so I plumbed for the more generic option.
I currently use some simple VBA code to talk to a simple webcam to take
simple pictures and store them on my hard drive for later use in my Forms.
This system works very well, but unfortunately the webcam doesn't offer the
quality I'm after.
My thoughts have turned to digital cameras as a replacement. However, said
cameras aren't really designed with Access in mind I suspect! What I'm after
is a camera that can be told, via VBA to take a picture. Again using VBA I
would like to be able to access, or at least move, the image to a location
on my computer. With the webcam, the picture is automatically stored on the
harddrive as there isn't any storage media on the camera. Hence it was quite
simple!
So to sum up, what I'm really after is some advice. Firstly, can this be
done natively with VBA and certain cameras? If not, can it be done with
certain cameras and a manufacturers SDK? Those answered, could you possibly
point me in the diretion of models which accomplish said tasks!
Thanks very much,
George Wyndham
