Reply mail spell checker problem

I use Outlook 2002 set to use MSWord as the e-mail editor.
Word spell checking is set to English(UK) although English
(US) is available for the occasions I want to use it.
When I open a Reply window to reply to a message received
in Plain Text, the spell checker is set correctly to
English(UK).
But when the origianl message is HTML, the Outlook sets
the spell checking in the Reply window to English(US).
Is there a setting for this or is it an Outlook bug?
