reply messege text from mac outlook not showing up in xp outlook

I am encountering a problem with outlook and any help is appreciated:
PersonA (using outlook in WinXP) sends email to PersonB;
PersonB (using outlook in Mac) replies back;
PersonA gets the msg but doesn't see the reply text, he only sees his
original msg.
However, if PersonA is using our business webmail (run by Sun Java System),
he can see the reply text.
