Reply to address is incorrect

Hi-
I am using Exchange Server 2000 to provide internal email (call the domain
abc.com) and am using POP3 to get our internet email (call it pop3.com).
When sending an email to an external recipient, the reply to address is shown
as abc.com, our internal domain name. Since there are no MX records set for
abc.com, the emails bounce when someone tries to reply, which is what I would
expect (and want right now. I want our internet email to be separate from
our internal email, at least for the time being)

I cannot understand why my exchange server suddenly thinks that it is the
one sending the email. The only thing I can think of that I have done is run
Windows updates. We are using Outlook 2000 as our client on Windows XP
machines. If I remove the gateway from the server (W2K server) that Exchange
is installed on, I cannot send any emails to the outside world, even though
the emails should be using the POP3 account!

If I do not log into the domain, I can send email that has the proper reply
to address of our POP3 account.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!
