This post is in reply to the post called "Attachments" (For some reason I am
not able to get the respond to this message feature to let me reply within
the original thread posted by Tommy)

Tommy,

Remember that Outlook and BCM are 2 separate applications designed to work
together while sharing a similiar user interface that makes them appear to be
the same app. When an email is linked to a BCM Account or Business Contact
record it is the link only that exists in BCM. The original sent or received
message (along with any attachments) always still resides in your separate
Outlook PST folder. If you choose to delete the message from the Outlook PST
folder, BCM will conveniently write a copy of the original message text onto
a Business Activity form and automatically then store it directly inside of
the BCM database. It will NOT however include the attachments with this auto
rewrite. Perhaps that is what is happening in your situation. Are you
deleting the original message stored in Outlook without separating and saving
the attachment elsewhere first? I personally really like this feature and
use this exclusively for all BCM related email storage. This automatically
created BCM Business Activity record looks and acts like an Outlook Journal
record item with the entry type etc, indicated on the form. I also really
like to use this with my BCM linked emails because I can keep my Outlook PST
much smaller. With emails that I delete that have attached documents that I
need to save, I first separate the attachment and save them in a designated
windows folder. If necessary you can then create a BCM record document link
to that former attachment as long as the document remains residing in the
same place on the hard drive.

I hope my comments are helpful.

Thank you for clearing that up, I was spinning my wheels to find the
switch to turn on the save attachments feature. I think another BCM
user is deleting the original message and I am seeing only the text.
Thanks again.
