Report Resource allocation across projects

J

Josh E.

In PWA, I simply need a report to to show all resources and what projects
(not tasks) the resource is assigned to. the End Date of the project would
also be useful. I need this view/report to be accessible to all users. This
seems like it should be simple, however I'm not seeing an easy way to
accomplish this. Help is appreciated.

You can create such a report as a custom view in the Portfolio Analyzer. To
do so, complete the following steps:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu, then click Manage Views
3. Click the Add View button
4. Select the Portfolio Analyzer option at the top of the page
5. Give your new View a name
6. Select the PivotTable only option
7. Drag the Resources dimension to the Row Fields drop area
8. Drag the Projects dimension to the Row Fields drop area to the right of
the Resources dimension
9. Drag the Work field to the Total Fields drop area
10. Click the Resources dimension column header to select it and then click
the Expand button on the toolbar
11. Adjust column widths as necessary
12. Add the new view to the My Organization and My Projects categories
13. Click the Save Changes button

Step #10 will expand all of the resources in the list, which will show every
project to which each resource is assigned. The Work field will show the
number of hours of Work assigned to each resource on each project. Hope
this helps.
