Reporting in Project Server

We're intested in providing reports that show milestone and task data (the
Gantt chart view) for multiple projects.
a. Scorecard – we’re interested in creating a report that would show all
projects across the top and all milestones along the side and indicate the
status of each project against each milestone
b. Portfolio Analyzer – the fields that we’d like to see available for
custom reports in the portfolio analyzer are not available in the “available
fields†pop up box. Is there a way to customize this list?

A. You would need to use a master project for this purpose. To create a
master project, open a blank project, then click Insert - Project. Select
the projects you wish to report against and click the Insert button. You
can expand/collapse the summary tasks in each project as needed, and even
apply the Milestones filter if that would help.

B. The only fields available by default in the Portfolio Analyzer views are
custom enterprise Project and Resource outline codes.

Hope this helps.

Dale,
We've created a master project. Are these reports able to be viewed from
the server or will the project need to be opened and viewed locally on an
executive's machine? The problem with creating master projects and viewing
them on the server is that they don't show any of the tasks.

No, you cannot open and view master projects in PWA. An alternative is to
set up the master project the way you wish to see it, and then to save it as
an HTML page and e-mail it to the interested parties. Hope this helps.
