Struggling to Succeed Building a Report

Hello all,

I am in need of direction and any assistance available re-creating a report.
The original report was created using MS Access and Excel from the 2003
Project Server database and the person who created the report has since moved
on so, now I am trying to recreate the report from the 2007 Project Server
databases and have no idea where to begin or what would be the best, and
easiest, process for re-creating this report.

The original report is derived from the project schedules, which contain a
section of tasks listed under a summary task labeled “Milestonesâ€, these are
linked to the actual milestones in the schedule as successor tasks. So for
each new release or upgrade to an original application in the project there
is a completion milestone which is the predecessor to the “Faux†milestones
in the “Milestone†section of the schedule. (I do not know why this process
was chosen I am just trying to work with what I have until I can determine if
this is the best method or not.)

Now what I need to do is select all of these faux milestones and filter out
the ones that are complete to create a list of upcoming milestones by
project. Figure out how to use the predecessor field for these faux
milestones to identify the actual milestone and then pull the data for the
actual milestone’s summary task.

The report shows the upcoming releases (faux milestone names) by project
with the summary task data for “workâ€, “actual workâ€, “remaining workâ€,
finish dateâ€, etc. I do not know where this data resides in the databases,
whether I can import straight to Excel and then run macros, or if I should be
using a completely different approach to develop this report that I am told
is used to prioritize the releases.

Anyone out there who can provide me with some direction?

Darrell

Nevermind,

I found the tables and have figured out how to pull the data directly into
Excel to create the report.
