Reporting on Resources showing assigned tasks

K

Katherine Warren

I have a project where each main task is a project and there are similar
subtasks under each main task. The main tasks are not linked/dependent
(portfolio of projects so to speak). Resources are assigned to multiple
projects to do the same sort of subtask.
How it is set up:
Main Task 1
-sub task A: Joe
-sub task B: Mary

Main Task 2
-sub task A: Cindy
-sub task B: Mary

Desired report view:
Mary:
-subtask B - Main Task 2....0% complete
-subtask B - Main Task 1 .....100% complete

Not tracking material or costs in this PPM file. I need reporting on "who
is responsible for what and is it done...." ALso, not using % of
resources/hours function. So Mary could be responsible for 50 sub tasks and
we're not managing what % of her is what.

Much obliged for any help!

Katherine,

I have used a couple of methods to get this information. First off, I
recommend Rod Gill's VBA book. I would expect that you will want more
information than what your post is asking for right now. You can read an
excerpt at the following location:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee355231.aspx

Now, if you truly only want a report for each resource with task name and %
complete I would recommend using filters to get the desired report.
However, You have not indicated what version of project you are using and
what format output you need. Let us know what version and the desired output
and maybe we can find a solution.
