I am new to project managing so I have a few questions. (Our firm is using
Project Pro 2003 along with Project Server in order to track the progress of
projects)
1) Is there an easy way to set a task as "complete" even if the reported
time for that task doesn't match the estimated time for that task? For
instance, when a resource updates their timesheet report in project server
for a task such as "order servers" which was initially scheduled to take 1
hour, but only took 30 minutes...(and the task is actually complete b/c they
finished the order in 30 minutes instead of 1 hour)...what is the best way to
set this task as complete, without changing their reported time to match the
projected time?
2) Also, what if the resource estimated a task taking 2 hours to complete,
but they report 6 hours for the task in project server? Does project reflect
that it took them much longer to complete this task, therefore throwing the
schedule of the project off?
Thanks for your help, it is much appreciated!
