Reports from Project Server 2007 DB's

Has anyone used any of the reporting tools (Crystal Reports, SQL Reporting,
Excel Services…etc.) Which of these seems to offer the most flexibility and
access to the most data??? What limits do they have???
We have a need to report task level data in a number of different ways and
essentially, we would like a simple way to select the fields and projects (or
all) to draw from and generate reports...
We are hoping to NOT be limited on what fields we can draw into a report
including any enterprise fields we have or will have in the future (including
those with multiple selections.).

Any suggestions on which products to review?
Thanks,
Eric

Eric,

Whilst Reporting Services will give you pretty much everything you could
dream of, there is an overhead in developing and deploying them (especially
if you do not have admin access to the environment). Another approach you
can try is to use Microsoft Excel and the Project Server cubes. You would be
surprised to see just how much info is in the cubes and how complicated a
report you can get out if you merge Excel functionality with the cubes.

If you find the excel report useful, publish it up via Excel Services, or
upload it to a document library to share with your peers.

Other than Excel, the MS Report packs suggested by JHBlake will give you a
good coverage of reports and provide an excellent starting point for
customisation.

Thanks for the tip... What is "Whilst Reporting Services"? I'm not being
sarcastic, is this a type-o? I can't find any reference to this product... I
do have admin access to all of the boxes and I do have some developers, so it
seems that a product like this would be my best option. We are in a very
unique situation because the reports we need to generate are not typical of
what most programs will use. We have created a number of custom fields and
use them in various ways so the best way to explain it is simply to look for
a tool or method to select any field(s) and generate reports form them. I
almost need the miracle reporting tool, to allow a user to select the fields
and apply them to a query.

Thanks again,
E

Eric:

He meant SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) "Whilst" is the non-US English
version of "While."
