Reports with Columns

Can anyone direct me to a place that explains how to create reports with
columns in detail?

I have put up several questions on this forum to figure out how to get my
report printed properly, but I am still having trouble. I have seen an
example that shows columns that display across then down, but I need down
then across. I can get down then across, except for a few areas that need
more than one column to display all the data. In these cases, the remainder
of the data displays on the next page instead of the next column.
