Repost: Are graphics of Windows icons available?

Max

I want to use images of Windows icons in certain documents. Not functional
icons, just pictures of the actual icons. I've tried googling for this but I
don't get the exact images I want to use. I want the same exact icons that
appear on my screen when I'm using Windows XP, or the internet, etc.

Thanks, Max

This program will allow you to extract Icons from dll and exe files. you
might need to use an image editor to save the icons in another format

Paul,

If I extract the icon and convert it to a gif, are there any licensing
issues in including that gif as an indicator of a filetype in an commercial
application I create? One capability of this application is to serve as a
content repository for its users to store their documents in - including MS
Office documents. In the list of files they have available, we want to show
the Office documents icon to the user so they can quickly recognize the
files? Are we violating any license agreements by including those images in
our application?
