Republish Assignments sometimes doesn't work

When I run the Republish Assignments command in MS
Project Pro, more often then not I get the Republish
Assignments dialog. But sometimes, after selecting the
Republish Assignments command, nothing happens. No
dialog, no message...nothing, as if I never selected the
command.

If I close and reopen the project plan I'm working with,
I can often then successfully execute the Republish
Assignments command, and get the resultant Republish
Assignments dialog.

Is there a known issue with MS Project regarding this
behavior? Or is there something wrong with my project
plan or enterprise settings in MS Project that is causing
this behavior? Any insight would be appreciated. Thx!
