Requesting Data from Microsoft exchange server

Hi All

lately and i mean in the last two weeks, we have been getting a window
message saying "Outlook is retrieving data from the microsoft Exchange server
"servername". you can minimize this message to the window tastbar until
Outlook closes the message automatically" now i know this is normal but we
have been getting it almost everytime someone press NEW to compose a new
message.

we have Exchange server 5.5
and we use outlook 2002 as client

any ideas why it is doing so?

It's a network connectivity issue.

I also have a wide spread problem with delays imposed by the "Outlook is
requesting data from the Microsoft Exchange server" message. We noted this
problem surfaced after deploying XP SP2. You eluded to potential network
connectivity problems. Can you provide additional details?
