I get the above message whenever I go into an Office aplication (XP Pro with
Frontpage). In Excel this message seems to repeat several times causing the
launch of Excel to be quite slow. I have read about the Office plug-in for
Norton AV. I have the latest update. The problem does not ocur in my other
Office apps. I have uninstalled and reinstalled without any luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I did not want to do that. The problem only occurs in Excel. I was hoping
that there was some issue with Excel that has been fixed. I did read about
disabling the plug-in, but it says to do that only if you cannot get the
latest AV update. I have the latest update, so I had not considered this to
be a resolution to my problem. Barring any other solution, I guess that is
what I will have to do.

If you disable the Office Plug-in you will still be protected by the
AutoProtect layer. The only advantage of the plug-in is password
protected files which are encrypted.

I use Norton AV too and I figure if I have a password protected file
I'm leery of then I'll turn on the option, restart the application and
then open the file.

Otherwise turn the Office Plug-in off - all it does is cause one
conflict after another even with the 'latest updates'.

All the messages refer to NAV as the culprit. I use ZoneAlarm suite and the
annoying scan happens even when I disable ZoneAlarm.
