This morning I received an error message on a WORD text
file of 80 some pages. I don't remember everything the
message said (something about file corruption and being on
a diskette - I don't have this file on dikette) but after
exiting out, I can no longer find the file. It is an
important file with lots of information that I value. I
found two files; one named Rescued document and the other
Rescued Document 1. They both have the same file size as
my original WORD document, and the date/time stamp was the
time I last updated the original document. The file type
now is identified as 'Text Document'instead of 'Microsoft
Word Document'. When I try to open the rescued document,
I only see the last 5-6 lines I entered this morning; the
rest of the document appears as ??????????????????? Is
there any way I can recover my original data? I save the
file several times each day, but I can now find no file on
my C: drive with any portion of my original file name.
The shortcut on my desktop that I usually use to open the
file tells me it cannot find the file either.
