"Research" in Office how do I disable it?

I had to reinstall everything on my little laptop, so I'm catching up on
projects. I have never encountered "Research" before but I do use a custom
dictionary, as I have to use words not found in a regular dictionary.

In Publisher, "Research" did not like a word and took over, I've tried to
close this tool, delete it or anything - I can't; when it takes over the
screen is "frozen" until you quit Research but when you try to type it starts
Research again! When Research is active you can not click on HELP, tools,
etc. I quit Publisher and start again, but when I type a word NOT in its
dictionary - the problem start all over. I've tried the Knowledge Base and
can't find out what to do or how to disable it. Where is my custom
dictionary! (Using Newest Office and XP Home)

Thank you for your time. CJSM

Services that are automatically added to the Research task pane each time you open it
can be turned off by clearing the check box for the service you don't want in the
Research options dialog. To remove services such as Translation or Thesaurus, go to
Office Setup (Office Shared Features > Proofing Tools) and uninstall them

I have turned off Research in the Tool Bar, but it seems to turn its self
back on. Can I disable it/uninstall it?

Go to Add/Remove Programs, select Publisher (or Office Professional) and go
to Change. Then you want to add/change features. Once you get to the option
tree, go to Office Tools and uncheck/disable the Research Explorer bar.
