Reset Default Text Box Margins

B

Barb R.

Is there any way to reset the default margins for a text box? I have a
rather complex drawing canvas and some of the text boxes "overwrite" other
text boxes, so it gets difficult to select the desired box. I've been
changing the margins manually, but if I create a new text box, I want it to
have the new margins. How do I do this?

Thanks in advance.

Format your text box as desired and then right-click on it and select Set
AutoShape Defaults. I'm not sure whether this will affect the text box
margins or not, but it's worth a try.

Thanks. That worked for setting a default margin. I can't seem to change
the font (size and style) that way, however. Any suggestions?

Hi Barb,

Text boxes use the 'normal' style settings from Word by default.
Have you modified the 'normal' style?

I was wondering about that. I don't really want to do that as the Normal
Style is used in many other places besides in this drawing canvas. Thanks
for the info.
