Reset Hit Counter

F

Friar Tuck

My hit counter retruned to zero because I set it up for only 5 digits. Now I
want to reset it to 10 digits and the number of hits it was at when it
returned to zero. I entered the higher number in the number of hits reset
section e.g. 1056, saved it and published the change to the remote site but
for some reason the counter keeps starting at zero. How can I get the hit
counter toreset at the higher number?

Open the live/remote site directly in FP, remove the hit counter from the page, save and run Tools |
Recalculate Hyperlinks.

Next add a new counter back to your page with the 10 digits, then save and run Tools | Recalculate
Hyperlinks, then open _private folder and look for the count file for this page, it is in the format
of pagename.htm.cnt, open this file in notepad and change the count to what you want, do not change
the number of places, etc.
